Gold-filled jewelry has a layer of karat gold fused over a base metal. It does not wear off or tarnish like gold plate, and it does not have allergy problems like gold plate. Made of 18 gauge sterling silver sheet, the ring shank is 10mm wide and is topped with a 12mm brass cube that is open on two sides. I have oxidized the brass cube and polished the edges to give it a better contrast against the matte polished sterling silver ring shank. The ring is also available with an unoxidized polished brass finish for a gold cube look.
